

Peter A. Muhic
Peter is an accomplished trial lawyer who represents individual clients and classes of plaintiffs in sophisticated litigation throughout the country. Peter was formerly a partner of Cozen O’Connor, an Am Law 100 law firm based in Philadelphia, PA, where he spent more than a decade honing his litigation and trial skills in a vast array of cases before moving on to partnership at some of the nation’s premier securities and class action law firms. Peter has tried complex cases to verdict in numerous federal and state courts. He regularly serves in leadership positions in nationwide class and collective actions involving ERISA, FLSA, consumer protection statutes, fiduciary breaches, products liability, and other statutory and common law causes of action.
Peter has developed a network of strategic relationships with highly regarded attorneys around the country with whom he regularly partners on significant matters. In his career, he has secured hundreds of millions of dollars in relief from business conglomerates, fiduciaries, lending institutions, insurers and other corporate wrongdoers on behalf of consumers, retirement plan beneficiaries, employees and institutional investors.
Education
Peter received his juris doctorate, with honors, from Temple University, Beasley School of Law, in Philadelphia, PA, where he served as Managing Editor of the Temple Law Review and was a member of the Moot Court competition team. In addition to being a finalist in the I. Herman Stern moot court competition, he was the recipient of multiple academic awards. Peter received his Bachelor of Science degree in finance and marketing from Syracuse University where he was a Maxwell School of Citizenship scholarship recipient.

Peter has successfully litigated numerous cases resulting in multi-million dollar recoveries for ERISA retirement plan participants, as well as consumers, employees, and others, including:
Norton, et al. v. Mass General Brigham Inc., et al., No. 1:22-cv-10045 (receiving final approval in September 2025 of $8.25 million ERISA class settlement); McLachlan, et al. v. The Board of Trustees of the Elevator Constructors Annuity and 401(k) Retirement Plan, No. 2:22-cv-04115 (E.D.Pa) (obtaining final approval in April 2025 of $5 million ERISA class settlement); Davis v. Magna Int’l of America, Inc., No. 20-cv-11060 (E.D. Mich.) (receiving final approval in August 2024 of $2.9 million ERISA class settlement); Winkleman v. Whole Foods Market Inc., No. 1:23-cv-01352 (W.D. Texas) (pending approval $2.0 million ERISA class settlement); Miguel, et al. v. Salesforce.com Inc., No. 21-15867 (N.D. Cal.) (obtaining final approval in April 2025 of $1.35 million ERISA class settlement).
Powell v. Subaru of America, Inc., et al.,19-cv-19114-CPO (D.NJ) (served as co-lead counsel obtaining final approval in April 2025 of settlement delivering relief to vehicle owners valued in excess of $65 million); Murphy v. Toyota Motor Corp., et al., 21-cv-00178 (E.D. Tex) (served critical role in consolidated class actions obtaining final approval in November 2024 of nationwide settlement delivering relief for vehicle owners valued in excess of $360 million); Amans, et al., v. Tesla, Inc., 3:21-cv-03577 (N.D. Cal.) (served as Executive Committee member securing final approval in March 2024 of class settlement providing over $115 million in contractual relief to class members in addition to $6.08 million cash fund).

(prosecuted claims on behalf a class of ERISA trustees against investment advisors in connection with investments in Bernard L. Madoff’s Ponzi scheme, resulting in a combined settlement valued in excess of $219 million); In re Transatlantic Holdings Inc., et al. v. American Int’l Grp, et al., Case No. 50 148 T 00376 10 (AAA Arbitration) (member of litigation and trial team obtaining $75 million binding arbitration award in connection with claims that AIG and its subsidiaries breached their fiduciary and contractual duties and committed fraud in connection with the administration of their securities lending program)

Professional & Community Involvement
Peter has long served as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia, PA, where he conducts settlement conferences between parties prior to trial. Peter is a past Board Member of the SeniorLAW Center in Philadelphia and was honored for his outstanding commitment to the organization. Peter also is a past recipient of the White Hat Award for exceptional pro bono contributions to the Legal Clinic for the Disabled, a non-profit organization serving the needs of the disabled in Philadelphia.
